Why Vaporizing Dry Herb Blends is Uniquely Relaxing

And a few reasons why you might want to try the Air Tea Platform.

If I asked you to imagine a quintessentially relaxing scene, what images would come to mind? A couch with a blanket, perhaps, low lighting, and a book? There would almost certainly be a cup of tea in the scene. After all, what’s more calming than a warm beverage?

Tea is wonderful: warming, soothing, and relaxing. Why try a dry herb vaporizer or Air Tea instead?

There are a few reasons why you might prefer vaping herbs or Air Tea to drinking tea (3 Reasons Vaping Dry Herbs Is Better Than Traditional Tea), but even beyond these, the Air Tea system offers unique benefits for relaxation.

Let’s delve into a bit of basic chemistry to explore why.

The group of phytochemicals (plant chemicals) that has the strongest effect on your nervous system is called terpenes. Terpenes are light and float on air – this is why they’re often called “volatile oils.” They are very fragrant – if a plant is aromatic, you can assume that it contains a high amount of terpenes. Terpenes are small and enter your bloodstream quickly, which is why the calming effect is so immediate.

When you make a cup of herbal tea, you’re putting the best dry herbs through an extraction process. Water is the solvent that is extracting phytochemicals so that your body can absorb them when you drink your tea.

Here’s the issue: water isn’t very good at extracting terpenes.

Think about when you make a cup of lavender tea (lavender is a dry herb) —the tea bag smells so fragrant, but the tea doesn’t taste as good as it smells. That’s because you’re smelling the fragrant lavender terpenes that are floating on the air to your nose. It’s easy for terpenes to float through the air. But once you pour water over them, the water isn’t going to extract them effectively. Water will extract some of the terpenes, but ultimately the experience of drinking the lavender tea will not be as potent as inhaling lavender aroma.

Furthermore, when you consume terpenes through tea, they need to go through your digestive system before entering your bloodstream. Depending on the health of your digestive system, this can take hours.

Dry herb vaporizers work differently. Rather than using a solvent such as water, you’re heating the herbs to just the right temperature such that the terpenes are released into the air. You’re then able to inhale the terpenes which enter your bloodstream immediately. You feel the relaxing effects within seconds.

The Air Tea platform makes this even easier – the cartridges are already packed with soothing herbs, and you just have to press one button to heat the herbs to the right temperature. All those fragrant, relaxing terpenes are immediately available to help you calm down.

If you’ve never tried vaping before but need help soothing you’re nervous system, I encourage you to give it a try. It might be just what you need to truly feel calm. And next time you visualize a relaxing scene, the Air Tea platform might be the first thing that comes to mind.
